Pierre Specker formed his first band at the age of 14. He's 50
now, but he wouldn't be more enthusiastic about music if he were a youngster.
His new combo, Pierre Specker Band, plays sort of a country-folk-rock,mixing
mediaeval Alsatian popular music, country-rock classics and personal songs that
had a lot of airplay on French, Swiss and German radios since the recording of
the first LP with Est in 1978. The members of this in French, German, Alsatian
and English singing European band hope to be able to play soon for their Cajun
cousins in Louisiana and for their other Alsatian cousins in Castroville Texas.
In the year 2000 the group is planning to release a new CD with alsatian songs
from 14. century till today, with original folk-rock arrangements, mixing old
instruments (Rauschpfeife, Cornamuse) and modern ones.
