When typesetting Devanagari script for inclusion in Web pages, one way is to the devnag pre-processor, written by Frans Velthuis. It builds TEX macros to typset syllables constructed using the dvng font, which is available in several sizes. This is sufficient to handle the Hindi, Marathi, Nepali and Sanskrit languages.
