Nje udhetim i vogel
dhe i lezetshem |
A nice little trip |
"Daisi jam
une,-Ted": Inspektori i detektivave i telefonoi nje detektiveje
private. |
"Daisy, it’s me -
Ted," Detective-Inspector Singleton was telephoning his favourite
private detective. |
Ishin takuar ne nje
rast dhe qe atehere kishin dale se bashku kur ia lejonte puna.
|
They had met on a
case and ever since they had been going out together, when work
permitted. |
" Je e zene per
ditet e ardhshme?" |
"How are you fixed
for the next few days" |
Daisi ishte duke
pire nje filxhan te nxehte Ovaltine sepse ajo kishte pak ftohte kur
ajo ndodhej ne zyre. |
Daisy had been
drinking a boiling hot mug of Ovaltine as it was still a bit chilly
in the office. |
Lulet e para po
hezitonin te celnin megjithese ishte nje dite shume e bukur dhe
dielli rrezellente ne qiell. |
The first flowers
were hesitating at coming out but there was a bright sun in the sky. |
"Mire, zoti
"Well, Mr.
Floodbridge is coming in tonight to start whitewashing the office,
so I’m free whenever you like. What’s on, Ted?" |
"po te coj ne France kete mbremje- ne Boulogne
per te pare bukurite artistike:A e ke mire qe te kthehemi te marten
tjeter?" |
"I’m taking you to
France this very evening - to Boulogne, to see the sights. All right
to come back next Tuesday?" |
"Per mua eshte
mire.Daisi po veshtronte tashme garderoben e saj.
|
"That’s fine by me."
Daisy was already going through her wardrobe mentally. |
"Besoj qe mund te
jete pak me ftohte ne Boulogne sesa ketu ne Angline lindore." |
"I believe it’s a
bit warmer in Boulogne than here in East Anglia." |
"po mendoj se keshtu eshte" replikoi Ted."Si thua
sikur te vij te te marr ne shtate e gjysem?Shikojme tragetin e
mevonshem-Doverkraft e mund te bejme dicka te mire ne anije. |
"Yes, I believe it
is" replied Ted "What if I pick you up at half past seven? We’re
catching the night ferry - the Dovercraft - and we can have a
nice meal on the boat." |
Ted ndaloi per pak
momente ashtu sic bente kur ai ndodhej gjithmone ne gabim. |
Ted paused a moment
as he always did when he felt guilty. |
" Oh ,ne fakt nuk
i kam me mustaqet e mija ". |
"Oh, by the way, I
haven’t got my moustache any more. |
Kete mengjes e kisha
me aq te shpejte saqe i preva me shume sesa duhej dhe vendosa qe ti
rris perseri. |
"This morning I was
in such a hurry that I cut too much off on one side and decided I’d
better start again from scratch." |
"Oh jo, Ted!Nuk mund te te imagjinoj pa
to.Gjithsesi me duhet ta mbyll ketu sepse me duhet te sistemoj
rrobat. |
"Oh no, Ted! I can’t
imagine you without it! Anyway, I must go now, because I’ve got some
throwing-away to do here." |
Daisi veshtroi posterat qe kishte varur ne mur-
rreth Egjiptit dhe Israelit dhe psheretiu. |
Daisy looked at the
posters she had put up on the walls - of Egypt and Israel - and
sighed. |
"I’ll have to make
do without them now. They’re so torn and dirty. |
'Por ndoshta mund te
marr te tjera tek agjensia e udhetimeve.Mbi te gjitha kur te
kthehem do te kem nje zyre te bukur dhe te paster . |
"But maybe I can get
some more from the travel agency. Anyway I’ll have a nice clean
office to come back to." |
Ajo i beri disa telefonata klienteve te saj dhe
She made a few phone
calls to clients and one to Mr. Floodbridge, the whitewasher, to
make sure he had the office keys. |
Then she made her
way home to pack her bottle of Opium perfume, some mid-season
clothes and a warm wool-lined raincoat. |
Daisi kishte shkuar
ne shume kontinente te ndryshme por asnjehere me Ted. |
Daisy had been over
to the Continent several times, but never with Ted. |
Ajo ndihej shume e
uritur dhe per kete pregatiti nje sanduic me domate dhe me mish
vici. |
As she felt very
peckish, she fixed herself a bumper tomato and corned beef sandwich. |
Inspektori i dedektivave Ted Singleton arriti
pikerisht ne orarin e caktuar ne 7.30. |
Detective-Inspector
Morris Singleton arrived perfectly on time for their appointment at
7.30. |
Daisi eci drejt Tedit:" E di qe ti dukesh mire
pa mjeker por une te pelqeja me mire me to." |
Daisy stared at Ted:
"You know, you look quite nice without your moustache, but I think I
prefer you with it." |
" Epo mire ",
premtoi Ted nuk do ti pres me kurre." |
"All right,"
promised Ted, "I won’t shave it off again." |
kur ato nderkohe po
benin rrugen e tyre me makine per ne Dover filloi te binte nje shi i
lehte. |
As they made their
way to Dover by car it started to rain quite heavily. |
"Shpresoj qe te mos
filloje te fryje ere" tha Ted. |
"Hope it’s not going
to be windy as well," remarked Ted. |
Kur ato iu afruan bordit pane se kishte shume
rreth Doverkraftit. |
Once on board they
had a look round the Dovercraft. |
Dyqanet e duty-free
The duty-free shop
was full of tourists buying last-minute presents. |
zbaviteshin me nje njeri i cili ishte veshur si klloun, ndersa
In a colourful room,
small children were wide awake being entertained by a magician
dressed as a clown, and their grateful parents were having a ‘quick
one’ in the nearby lounge. |
Ishte dhe nje restorant i cili dukej se ishte i
shtrenjte dhe nje tjeter me i lire i cili ishte i mbushur plot me
udhetare. |
There was also a
restaurant which had the air of being very expensive and a much
cheaper one full of starving travellers. |
Salloni dukej i
kendshem me poltronet e rehatshem e te medhenj dhe nderkohe dallohej
gotave degjoheshin papushim. |
The lounge looked
pleasant with big comfortable armchairs, and at the end of it there
was a lively bar clinking glasses continuously. |
" Ted po vdes per te
ngrene , hajde ikim te hame ate darken e mrekullueshme qe me
premtove? " tha Daisi. |
"Ted, I’m starving,
can we go for that wonderful meal you promised me?" Daisy pleaded. |
Pikerisht ne ate cast anija u anua dhe Daisi
humbi ekuilibrin dhe ra. |
Just then the boat
rocked sideways and nearly made Daisy fall over. |
" Oh Ted deti eshte
pak i acaruar apo jo?" |
"Oh Ted, it’s a bit
rough, isn’it." |
But Ted couldn’t
reply. He was deathly pale and gasping for fresh air. |
"Ted cfare ke? Ty
nuk te ze deti apo jo?" |
"Ted, whatever’s
wrong? You’re not seasick, are you?" |
Daisy had never been
seasick, or even airsick and it had never entered her mind anybody
else could be, or even what it was like. |
" Ted dalim dhe
rrime per pak kohe jashte." |
"Ted, let’s go
outside for a bit." |
paster. |
Daisy helped him
outside the lounge into the fresh air. |
Per fat te keq
frynte nje ere e forte dhe atyre iu desh qe te hynin perseri brenda.
|
Unfortunately a very
strong wind was blowing and they had to go back in again. |
"Mos u shqeteso per
mua Daisi"- tha Ted i cili merrte fryme me veshtiresi. |
"Don’t worry about
me Daisy," Ted was breathing heavily. |
" Ti ik dhe merr
dicka per vete , ndersa une po rri ketu ne sallon." |
"You go ahead and
have something. I’ll just sit here by myself in the lounge." |
' Jo Ted do te rri
me ty" insistoi Daisi. |
"No, Ted, I’ll stay
with you," insisted Daisy. |
" Jo Daisi me te
vertete preferoj te ulem ketu dhe te mos te flas me njeri. |
"No Daisy, really,
I’d prefer just to sit here quietly and not talk to anybody." |
' Epo mire nese kete
do ti po iki por nuk do te rri shume kohe." |
"All right, if
that’s what you want...I won’t be long." |
Daisi iu drejtua restorantit duke shpresuar qe te
kthehej sa me shpejt te ishte e mundur tek Ted por ishte e pamundur
sepse kishte shume rradhe. |
Daisy made her way
to the self-service restaurant hoping to get back to Ted as soon as
possible, but there was an incredible queue. |
I gjithe stafi ishte impenjuar keshtu qe Daisi
kafeje. |
However, the staff
were efficient and in ten minutes Daisy was having her cod, chips
and peas, followed by Spotted Dick and custard and a cup of black
coffee. |
Daisi u kthye tek
Tedi i cili po qendronte prane dritares dhe kishte ngritur jaken e
xhaketes. |
Daisy returned to
Ted who was now facing the window and had the collar of his
waterproof jacket turned up. |
"Ndjehesh mire
Ted?". Por Ted nuk u kthye. |
"Feeling better,
Ted?" Ted didn’t turn round. |
"Eshte shume nxehte
xhaketes. |
"It’s rather hot in
here now, isn’t it?" continued Daisy taking off her warm mac. |
"Ted cfare problemi
ke?" |
"Ted, what’s the
matter?" |
Daisi e preku lehte
Daisy touched his
shoulder, noticing he hadn’t answered. |
"Daisi"tha Ted duke
qendruar akoma tek dritarja," eja dhe ulu prane meje" Kur Daisi u ul
"Daisy," hissed Ted
still facing the window, "come and sit next to me! I can’t turn
round." Once Daisy was seated, Ted explained: "William Rowles is
sitting at the end of the lounge having a beer!" |
Daisi mori fryme
thelle. |
Daisy breathed in
rapidly. |
"Je i sigurte. Do te
thuash Uilljam Roules gangsteri i dhunshem i Sohos!Por une mendoja
se ishte ne burg." |
She whispered, "You
mean William Rowles, the violent Soho gangster! But I thought he was
in prison." |
'"Po ishte sepse e
futa une ne burg per 14 vjet . Ted fliste me veshtiresi dhe ndalonte
here pas here per pak sekonda. |
"Yes he was, I put
him in prison myself for fourteen years." Ted was speaking with
difficulty and paused every few seconds. |
"E transferuan ne
nje burg skocez dhe ai ia arriti te arratisej javen qe kaloi.Eshte
"They transferred
him to a Scottish prison and he managed to escape last week! He’s
fatter than he was, but that’s him all right." |
Daisi evitoi qe te
shikonte nga salloni. |
Daisy avoided
looking towards the end of the lounge. |
Tedi vazhdoi: " Nuk
besoj se me njohu sepse nuk i kam me mustaqet por them se po te me
njohe do te krijoje nje rremuje te madhe." |
Ted continued: "I
don’t think he has recognised me because I haven’t got my moustache
any more but if he recognises me he could cause a lot of
trouble. |
"Daisy, he’s very
violent and could easily be armed in some way." |
"Cfare do te bejme
Ted?" . Daisi ndihej paksa e frikesuar.. |
"What shall we do,
Ted?" Daisy felt a little scared by now. |
"Duhet te me
ndihmosh sepse nuk mund ti'a dal mbane i vetem para kesaj situate
sepse jam i debult." |
"You must help me. I
can’t manage the situation alone, I’m too weak. |
"Ti shko tek
kapiteni dhe thuaja te gjithe kete , ndersa une do te rri ulur ketu
derisa te vijne policet ta marrin ate." |
"You must go to the
captain, tell him about all this and get Rowles arrested. I’ll sit
here until the officers arrive." |
Daisy tried to move
away inconspicuously and walked along the lounge to the exit. |
Pikerisht ne ate
cast hyne tre te rinj nga dera me tre kanace birre ne dore. |
Just then three
young men came through the door with cans of beer in their hands. |
Anija u anua perseri
Suddenly the ship
lurched again and one of the young men fell against Daisy
accidentally pouring beer down her new green silk blouse. |
"Oh jo kemisha ime e
re " mendoi Daisi. Ajo u shkaterrua dhe une tashme bie ere birre. |
"Oh no, my new
blouse," Daisy thought "it must be ruined and I smell of beer now." |
Realising that she
might be drawing attention to herself, Daisy quickly absolved the
young man from his responsibility, hurried away along the corridor
towards the officers’ room and knocked on the door. |
Nje agjent hapi
deren duke i hedhur syte tek kemisha e Daisit e cila ishte gjithe
birre. |
An officer opened
the door at last and stared at Daisy and her beer-stained blouse. |
"Mund te ju ndihmoj
zonjushe?" Me siguri Daisi i kishte nderprere darken atij sepse ai
mbante ne dore nje picete, |
"Can I help you
miss?" Daisy had clearly interrupted his evening meal as he still
had a napkin in his hand. |
"Kemi nevoje per
ndihmen tende, pra inspektor Singleton ka nevoje:" |
"We need your help,
that is Detective-Inspector Singleton does. |
"Eshte nje kriminel
"There’s a dangerous
criminal, an escaped convict, in the lounge having a drink - William
Rowles is his name - and....." |
Agjenti nuhati eren
e birres ne kemishen e Daisit dhe e interpretoi keq. |
The officer could
smell Daisy’s beery clothes and interpreted it badly. |
"Shiko zonjushe
perse nuk kthehesh dhe ulesh pak?" |
"Look, Miss, why
don’t you go back and sit down a bit. |
"There are no
dangerous criminals on this boat. You clearly fell asleep and had a
bad dream." |
"Mos me trajtoni ne
kete menyre " reagoi Daisi me tonin e saj posesiv. |
"Don’t you dare
treat me like that." Daisy angrily reacted at his patronising tone. |
"Nuk jam duke
enderruar dhe nuk jam e pire, dikush kur po vija ketu me derdhi
birren ne kemishe. |
"I’m not dreaming it
all up. I’m not drunk either, someone spilt their beer all over me
while I was hurrying to get here." |
Zeri i Daisit u be akoma dhe me i vendosur. |
Daisy’s voice became
even more determined. |
"Eshte nje agjend
"There is a police
officer in the lounge who is very seasick and he sent me to get
help. |
"Nese nuk e ndihmoni ju vete do te gjendeni ne
veshtiresi". |
If you don’t help
him, you’ll be in a lot of trouble yourself." |
Daisi e shtyu burrin qe ishte tek dera dhe hyri
brenda per te folur me 4 agjentet e tjere te cilet ishin duke ngrene
darken dhe me siguri e kishin degjuar se cfare kishte thenen ajo. |
Daisy pushed her way
past the man into the room where four other officers were having
their meal and had probably heard what she had said. |
Before they could
realise what was really happening, Daisy was giving orders: |
"Eja ngrihuni te
gjithe ju sepse duhet te arrestoni nje njeri." |
"Come along, all of
you, you have to arrest an escaped convict immediately." |
Daisi ishte shume e vendosur kur ajo donte te
bente dicka. |
Daisy was very
persuasive when she liked. |
Nje burre me floket e thinjur u ngrit dhe tha:"
Jam kapiten Granger , Zonjushe cfare deshironi?" |
A tall grey-haired
man got up: "I’m Captain Granger, Madam, what were you saying?" |
"Kapiten nese ju
"Captain, if you
come with me to meet Detective-Inspector Singleton in the lounge he
can tell you himself. |
"Duhet te jeni shume
te kujdesshem sepse qe Roules te mos ta shikoje ate sepse ishte
pikerisht ai qe e arrestoi disa vite me pare. |
"You must be
discreet because if this Rowles sees my friend’s face he might
recognise him as he was the one who arrested him years ago." |
prane tij. |
Back in the lounge
Daisy went over to Ted and sat down next to him. |
After a few seconds
the Captain came by as though he were casually seeing if everything
was all right on the Dovercraft. |
Ai u perkul tek Ted i cili i tregoi teseren e
He bent over Ted who
discreetly showed him his identification and left the lounge. |
Mbas nje minute nje agjent ishte duke nderruar
ndryshme. |
After one minute an
officer had changed his clothes and replaced the barman while three
others were entering the lounge from the three exits. |
Daisi e sinjalizoi Tedin qe burrat kishin ardhur
dhe ai u ngrit ngadale. |
Daisy signalled to
Ted that the men had arrived and he got up shakily. |
nga Roules i cili ishte dehur me birre. |
He went over with
the men towards Rowles, who was by now quite merry on beer. |
Roules nuk e njohu aspak Singletonin pa mustaqe
por ia nguli syte atij sikur te mund ta kishte njohur me pare. |
Rowles didn’t
recognise Singleton at all without his moustache but stared at him
as though he couldn’t quite place his face. |
"Une jam inspektor
Singleton dhe ju arrestoj zoti Uilliam Roules . Kapiten te lutem ,
merreni me vete dhe mbylleni diku". |
"I’m
Detective-Inspector Singleton and I’m arresting you, William Rowles.
Captain, take him away and lock him up." |
Roules u cua ngadale
e shtrengoi goten e birres akoma ne doren e tij ,u perplas prane
daljes afer Daisit e cila ishte e ulur.. |
Rowles suddenly got
up and threw the contents of his glass into Singleton’s face, broke
the beer glass still in his hand, dashing it against a table, to use
as a weapon and made towards the exit near to where Daisy was still
sitting. |
Daisi e kishte
veshtruar te gjithin ne largesi. |
Daisy had been
watching everything from afar. |
Pa hezituar ajo mori armen e saj dhe bllokoi
daljen. |
Without hesitating,
she picked up her mac and blocked the exit. |
Roules u drejtua
drejt Daisit me goten e tij te kuqe per ti'a hedhur asaj ne fytyre
koke. |
As soon as Rowles
realised Daisy was in his way he turned on her and tried to push the
broken class into her face but Daisy ducked sideways and threw her
mac over his head. |
dhimbja. |
Rowles fought to get
the mac off him and free himself but in doing so cut his arm with
the broken glass and screamed with pain. |
Singleton and the
ship’s crew quickly arrived, managed to knock the broken glass from
his hand and pinned the criminal’s arms behind him. |
Nje here ne Calais
Once in Calais,
Rowles was handed over to the French authorities and Daisy and Ted
were able to drive off on holiday at last at six o’clock in the
morning. |
"Ke nje pamje shume
me te mire Ted". |
"You’re looking much
better, Ted. |
"Kam pasur gjithmone probleme me manjaket." |
"But have you always
had trouble crossing the Channel?" |
" Po por asnjehere
nuk kam kaluar nje kohe kaq te keqe. Oh Daisi kjo ishte nje
aventure. |
"Yes, I have, but
I’ve never crossed it in such bad weather. Oh Daisy, what an
adventure. |
"Me vjen keq qe perziej punen me kenaqesine". |
I’m sorry we always
get business and pleasure mixed up together. |
"Policia do te te
jete gjithmone mirenjohese!" |
"The Police Force is
going to be so grateful to you!" |
"Beh duke u nisur
nga momenti duhet te me japin nje distinktiv tjeter qe nga momenti
qe ku mu shkaterrua". |
"Well, to start
with, they can give me a new mac, as mine is completely ruined! |
"Edhe nje kemishe te
re e cila u shkaterrua e gjitha per shkak te punes." |
"And a new
silk blouse too which was stained all in the line of duty." |
flihej me. |
Ted was so happy not
to be seasick any more and hardly noticed that he hadn’t slept. |
Daisi ishte me pak e
Daisy was less used
to losing a night’s sleep and drifted off into a dream where
dangerous animals were escaping from an ark. |
